Our first Bushcraft WhiskeyVenture or as we called it, Whiskey in the Wilderness was a success! We hung out with Joe and Emma from Valiant Outfitters where we learned some necessary bushcrafting skills like, proper way to use your knife, baton wood, how to start a fire with charcloth and how to make a shelter with a tarp and paracord. Also, Whiskey Krew members Milo and Mase made it out to partake in the days festivities. It wouldn't be a WhiskeyVenture if we didn't bring WHISKEY! For our part, we brought a bottle of Noble Oak Bourbon and High West's Yippee Ki-Yay. Plus tin cups to drink it out of around the camp fire. Our schedule: • Intro to Bushcrafting, knife skills, shelter set up • Whiskey tasting, Noble Oak Bourbon • Lunch! (Emma's chili won) • Fire starting using char cloth and flint. • Overview of the days events, dinner. • Final Whiskey Tasting with High West Yippee Ki-Yay which is a blend of 3 different ryes then finished in Vermouth and Syrah barrels This is what Whiskey and a Hammock is all about, enjoying the outdoors, relaxing with a pour of whiskey and making memories with friends. We packed up the Gladiator and headed to the Osceola National Forest for a #WhiskeyVenture on the FAT, the Florida Adventure Trail. Camped out in our @gofsr roof top tent and @HavenTents hammock. We embraced nature by the fire with a bottle of Wolcott Bourbon along with a couple of cigars underneath the starry sky. Woke up in the morning, planned out our adventure, washed it down with more whiskey and headed out. Join us as we navigate the Big Gum Swamp Trail, hit water holes and have a great time! This #whiskey venture took us to St. Augustine for their annual Food and Wine Festival(plus spirits). The spirit part is what brought us there. Saw friends and made new ones. Had samples from St. Augustine Distillery, Laws Whiskey House and new to us, Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey, Ugly Dog and Prohibition Pops. It is what it sounds like, an alcoholic/slush popsicle. Went on a #whiskeyventure to Armature Works in Tampa Florida for the Piggyback Bourbon Launch. Only four of these Sugar Shack events are happening throughout the country so we HAD to make it to Tampa! The Shack was serving old fashioneds on one side and bourbon sours on the other both with the Whistlepig Maple Syrup. We were able to get into the Shack and talked to the Whistlepig Rep. Ingrid who gave us a rundown on the Pig and later we caught up with her at the second part of the event at the Barrymore Hotel for the Pig Roast & Bourbon Launch. Kris was able to get a quick interview with Ingrid and she brought the goods, we talked whiskey while sippin' on the new 4th edition Whistlepig 18 year that is finished in Pedro Ximenez casks for an unbelievable finish!
