Wayne form Bones Bar makes a special trip to Tennessee and brings back some high octane spirits to try and I couldn't say no. We start off with the mild Middle Creek Moonshine clocking in at 133 proof and ages slightly (3 months) and it was good until... we popped open the searing Single Barrel Select from King's Family Distillery, an American Light Whiskey (which means no rules) hitting the roof at 139.9 proof! We are out on a #whiskeyventure with Josh and Wayne, shootin skeet, drinking whiskey and thought a #flashreview was a good idea. Since Traveller Whiskey is from Buffalo Trace (and we had both bottles on hand) why not do a head to head of Traveller vs Buffalo Trace. So we did exactly that, tasted them side by side and then did our own blended the 2 when we couldn't decide which was better! One thing we did find out is that Chris Stapleton's Traveller is may be the first Buffalo Trace collab but it's not their juice. It's only bottled in Frankfurt, Kentucky. It's rumored that its a blend of Barton and Canadian whiskies. In the end we all enjoyed it and Kris was the lone wolf in picking Buffalo Trace while the rest picked Traveller as their favorite. We sit down with the owner of Bourbon & Boards, Troy and the rep from Southern Glazers, Matt... and Matt brought the goods! We start off with Angel's Envy, one of the first to pioneer finishing. Then move on to Angel's Envy Rye finished in Rum casks with a dose of how they started and where they came from. Elijah Craig is up next.
